IP Strategy Day on May 12: discover the topics and their experts

The second day of the IP strategy, dedicated to the key issue that IP represents for business growth, will take place on Friday 12 May. On the program: a series of webinars led by IP experts and business leaders to learn how to make IP a strategic tool to achieve your business objectives.

Intellectual property titles: what if it made money?

IP is a profitable investment over the long term provided you use it well. What IP titles should I use? How can the communication of its innovation capabilities impact the results of a company? What tax advantages for its IP titles?
Karine Berthier, IP Manager of Nokia, Mohammed Errafi, Founding President of Gravipack, and Julie Zerbib, Head of the Partnership Actions Unit at the INPI, will bring their experience on the subject and answer your questions.

  • Head of IP at Nokia, Karine Berthier is also a member of the board of the French Association of Industrial Property Specialists (ASPI).
  • Mohammed Errafi founded Gravipack in 2018, after seven years of R&D, several patent filings and fundraising. Gravipack was a finalist for the INPI Trophies in the "start-up" category in 2022. 
  • Julie Zerbib is Head of the Partnership Actions Department of the Economic Action Department of the INPI. Within the Ile-de-France delegation, she is at the heart of the support for companies and partnerships forged by the INPI in the Paris area.

  • Franck Mouthon is the President of France Biotech, an independent association that helps start-ups and SMEs in the health technology sector to become successful international companies. Franck Mouthon is also the Executive Chairman of Theranexus, a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the treatment of rare neurological diseases.
  • With a doctorate in economics and a degree in economic intelligence and intellectual property, Mandack Gueye is responsible for promoting research at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). The CNRS is a multidisciplinary public research organization, whose objective is to carry out fundamental research in the service of society in all fields of knowledge.

Takeover of companies: what about IP portfolios, I sort, I keep, I sell?

Buying a company, in the form of a merger/acquisition or not, also means buying back its IP portfolio! But beware, if this is not managed effectively, it can be a source of irrelevant expenses. How to choose titles (patents, trademarks, designs)? Do they have a financial value and how to negotiate?

  • Audrey Plantureux is Head of Intellectual Property at OVHcloud. Founded in 1999, the company provides public and private cloud, shared hosting and dedicated server solutions in more than 140 countries. The company also offers domain name registration.
  • Christophe Fevrier is the Managing Director of HEMP it, an agricultural cooperative specializing in the production and marketing of industrial hemp seeds. The cooperative has invested 10 million euros between 2019 and 2023 in its innovation process.

The INPI at the heart of the history of brands with its new exhibition "Brands on display"

The “Brands on display” exhibition, taken from the historical archives of the INPI, offers a selection of fifteen posters, created by nine of the most famous poster artists of the early 20th century, also registered as trademarks. Original registration forms and posters are displayed for the first time since their creation. The exhibition is currently visible in the Lille premises of the INPI and at the Ministry of the Economy.
