- Know the constituent parts of the deposit and the deposit phase.
- Master the phases of reception, admissibility, authorization to disclose;
- Know the administrative and technical examination phases.
- Know how and under what conditions to rectify a patent application file;
- Control the consequences of the publication;
- Master the phase of establishment and response to the preliminary research report;
- Mastering the patent issuance phase;
- Master the means of recourse;
- Know the National Patent Registry;
- Know the procedures for maintaining patents and SPCs in force (general rules and special cases).

- Become familiar with international research;
- Master the theme of amendments to an international application;
- Know the main PCT fees and payment deadlines;

- Know the formalities for issuing and validating an EP patent;
- Know the registration formalities;
- Know how to calculate a deadline and know the possible solutions in case of non-respect of this deadline;

- Know the formalities for examining an EP patent application;
- Know the formalities for filing an opposition;
- Know the procedures for limitation, renovation and appeal.
